How it started.
Institutional Charts started from a simple frustration. The platforms controlling market data were slow, expensive, and built to keep it that way. Traders were limited by design, not by what was technically possible.
Why We Built This
To enable every retail trader to operate with institutional capability — without renting the privilege from anyone.
The gap between retail and institutional trading has always been a gap in infrastructure: speed, data, intelligence, control. The tools that decide who wins were locked behind seven-figure terminals and proprietary desks. IC erases that gap.
Institutional Charts exists to remove the technological barriers that prevent traders from making informed decisions — delivering real-time data, unlimited customization, and high-performance execution without artificial restrictions.

How we sequence the hard stuff
Traders want two different things that look similar in a feature list but are not the same build:
- Watchlist-wide awareness — know when structure breaks on many symbols (opening range, session levels) without babysitting eighty charts. That is a shared level service plus alerts — and optionally the same facts on IC Konsole.
- Full custom Python indicators for every user on live chart and Konsole — a sandboxed plugin platform. That is the long destination of “no scripting ghetto,” not a silent claim that research scripts already are the live product.
We ship the first path deliberately. We keep the second as the north star with a public ladder: first-party tools and session intelligence → research/offline Python → live custom scripts on chart → multi-symbol user logic → marketplace. Pro and Founder request-and-vote accelerates first-party work while the platform rungs mature.
Strategic detail (what is chart-only today versus watchlist-wide next, and the full Python delivery ladder) is kept in the strategic foundation so it does not get lost. The platform is live and growing. The roadmap is public. You're early.
